Movies of the Week : Lifelong movies

GOODMORNING EVERYONE!!!

And today it's Sunday. That means the perfect day for a new movies of the week post.

I was thinking that l don't only want to write about movies i have seen on these posts, but also from time to time, write tributes about various topics that always have to do with movies. This time it is about ''Lifelong movies'' .
Lifelong movies as i have said in my previous movies of the week post, is my self-created term to characterize movies that show a whole human life in them. Meaning that they do not only present us about a story that ends at some point, but show us how a character evolves , grows, has children , how their children have children etc.
Bellow, follow some of my favorite lifelong movies and that will give you excactly the idea of what i mean.

1. A Will of Their Own

Genre: Romance , Drama , Lifelong
Duration: 5 hours (it is a mini series)
Year: 1998

As i recall it, it is a movie about a free spirited woman, that believes in equality among sexes and races, she is ''trapped'' in upper class and forced to marry without love.
Parallel to all these she experiences a forbidden love, goes through her own bad marriage and fights for women rights.
This movie pictures the life of the leading character from her teen days to her old age.
I remember watching this movie when i was a little girl, inspiring me to be independent and decisive.

2. Far and Away

Genre: Romance , Drama , Wild West , Lifelong
Duration: Almost 2,5 hours

Year: 1992

I think that if not all of you then the most of you know this film.
For those who don't know it it is about a young rich upper class lady and an average young boy, who back in the days of founding America, go through different adventures, try to survive in a cruel world and try to deal with each other, each of them having their own dream.
I really enjoy this movie everytime i watch it and many years go by until we have what we call it, a happy ending.

3. Little Women

Genre: Romance , Drama , Lifelong
Duration: Almost 2 hours

Year: 1994

Based on the homonymous book, this movie depicts the life of each one of the four girls of the March family.

Really sweet movie that makes you wanna cry at some points and leaves you light-hearted at the end.

4. Les Misérables

Genre: Drama , Lifelong movie
Duration: 2 hours and something
Year: 1998

You can read my rewiew on this one in my previous post movies of the week here.

5. Goya's Ghosts

Genre: Drama , Lifelong movie , period film
Duration: Almost 2 hours
Year: 2006

In case you have missed this one i highly suggest it.
This movie takes place in Europe during the years of Inquisition and depicts the turns of the lives of many heroes. The young girl that's being accused of not being a proper catholic, the priest that condemns her, her family's friend a notorious painter (Goya).
Again during this film many events take place and years go by until we see what happens in the end.
In this film i wish it had lasted a little bit longer, showing us more about what happened to the characters.

Genre: Drama , Lifelong movie
Duration: 2,5 hours and a bit
Year: 2008

The title says it by itself. The movie depicts the life of Benjamin Button from life to death or reverse if you'd prefer.
Benjamin Button is a person that is born with a curious situation, he is born with the appearance and fitness of an old man and as time goes by he rejuvenates.
It was a little bit of a kid's fairytale for me but apart from that i liked it.

That was it for this week's movies of the week. How did you like it?
Is there another movie that you think could fit in this category? If you know of others please let me know. I can't wait to check them out. Lilelong movies are among my favorites to watch.

Till the next time my loves hope you are doing fine
Talk to you soon,

kisses and a paw
