Movies of the Week : Movie Soundtracks

Greetings loved ones!!!

Happy Sunday and Happy September!!! :D

I know that not many of you are happy about September but try to look on the bright side of things. The sweet smell or the rain, colourful sweaters, feeling comfy in your favorite boots, reading books while cuddling with a blanket, drinking warm coffee. I hope i made you feel better!

Moving on now, to this week's Movies of the Week i have for you a bunch of movies. All are picked by me based on their soundtracks. In other words i present you my favorite movies' soundtracks.

I won't get into detail for the movies as the post is already going to  be long and i don't want it to get even longer. So to start here are some of the more popular movie soundtracks.

1. The Last of the Mohicans (1992)

2. Requiem fo a Dream (2000)

Pffff Blogger couldn't find it. Listen to it here

10. +Bonus the song that is heard on the trailer of the movie Anna Karenina (2012)

The trailer

The song

How did you find my choices then??? If there are other movies/soundtracks that i forgot or that you would like to suggest to me, i would be more than happy to read them in the comments.

Till the next time loved ones,
many kitten kisses!!!

Movies of the Week : 3 Thrillers and 3 Upcoming

Hello loved ones! Happy Sunday!!!

Long time no see. How have you been?

Myself, I have been away for a while on a mini vacation that's why my posts have been lacking lately. No matter, i had plenty of ideas for new posts all these days. You can keep an eye on a post about what i had been doing on my vacations any time soon............

Today though, i have for you a movies of the week post. This past week, along with friends i watched 3 thrillers (i usually don't watch them alone).

The titles:

Mama

Genre: Thriller , Ghosts
Duration: 1,5 hours and a bit
Year: 2013

A nice thriller with plot, beginning, middle and end.
The story deals with two little girls that after their parent's deaths they are left all alone in a cabin in the woods for some years, so they grow up awkwardly, like ''animals''. Their uncle ( Jamie Lannister ...... :P ) has been searching for them these past years and finally finds them.
He and his wife (Jessica Chastain) give them a new home and try to bring them up as normal kids. However the kids continue to act weird and ...... see things that others don't.

I really liked this film, is was scary enough and had a logic end.

Vacancy

Genre: Thriller, Hostel, Survival - Killing
Duration: 1 hour and a quarter
Year: 2007

A mediocre film. The opinions are differed though among those i talked with, but i am here to tell you my own personal opinion.
This film has to do with a couple that their car breaks down in the middle of nowhere and are made to stay in a isolated motel.
Once in the room things start to get weird. The tv doesn't work and the only thing that they can watch are some videotapes that were already in the room. The tapes at first sight appear to be just some splatter thrillers but later on they realise that all movies had the same background, the room that the couple was staying in this right moment.........
After that the whole movie becomes a chase of life and death between them and the motel owner, who likes to kill the  people that stay in his motel and capture them on tape.

The film was clever and agonizing in the beginning but moving on i got really bored and wanted to '' throw up'' from all the bullshit that was happening in the movie.
What i mean is that all the time stupid things were happening. From the motel owner, the stupid killers that were easilly outsmarted, the EVEN MORE STUPID police, the stupid end. Ok i will stop here because i am getting furious over a stupid film!!!

Remember though, that some of my friends liked this movie and the above was just my opinion.

The Hills have Eyes

Genre: Thriller , Survival - Killing
Duration: 1,5 hours and a bit
Year: 2006

This movie deals with a family consisted of 7 people and 2 dogs that go on a family trip in order to celebrate a wedding anniversary.
They decide to cross the desert in order to reach their destination faster, but ........someone sabotages their vehicle and they are left alone and helpless in the desert. Soon after that the action begins! And again it's a life or death game.

This movie wasn't that scary , i mean mostly movies with ghosts are scary, but was really anxious and i couldn't guess the end.

If you like survival horror movies, this is not a masterpiece but you can definately give it a go.

To finish up with this week's movies of the week, i give you three movie trailers of movies that are about to come out in the theaters. I fell accidentally upon them while surfing on youtube and they caught my attention. I for sure can't wait for them to come out! :)

Till the next time my loves,
Kisses!

The brand NEW : Book Corner !!!

Greetings dear all!!!

Today i am excited to launch a new post category. It's name will be ''Book Corner'' and will deal with everything related to books. Book hauls, books i'm currently reading, book reviews and specials to book authors. Note that Book Corner will be related to Thursdays as Movies of the Week are related to Sundays.

To begin this week's Book Corner i decided to post a haul of books that i borrowed from my local library.

If you remember from this post , i stated that i plan on reading old childhood memories books. For that reason i am on mission to rent as much books, if not all of them, from my local lending  library.

Here follows the first group of books that i borrowed :

I borrowed 3 Goosebumps and one book from the series ''The three investigators''. I think it is the first in the series.

Up close

The titles are :

Goosebumps N2 : Stay Out of the Basement
Goosebumps N10 : The Ghost Next Door
Goosebumps N15 : You Can't Scare Me!
Alfred Hitchcock and the Three Investigators in : The Secret of Terror Castle

And now a little bit on my opinion about the books. If i had to put the three Goosebumps in an order according to their rate of fright, i would have to pick firstly  ''Stay Out of the Basement'', secondly ''The Ghost Next Door'' and last the title ''You Can't Scare Me!''
As long as the Three Investigators is reffered i didn't have the chance to finish it yet ......... I know know, lazy me.

A little bonus, i thought i'd show you my bookies.

For the titles of Goosebumps i used a small one and for the Three Investigators a longer one.

Hehe. How do you thing of them? They are both advertising cards from the stands of the Essence make-up brand, that usually come with the new limited edition products.
The one on the left was from the Disney's Oz The Great And Powerful collection and the other from the Breaking Dawn collection.
I happen to have picked up the Disney's Oz The Great And Powerful advertising card when i was in Germany so the text written on it is in German.

See for yourselves

   That was all for now.
So how did you like my new post category? Are you excited for new book posts to come? I sure am.

Till the next time loved ones,
Kisses and my paws

Do it yourself : Notebook marker

Greetings dear all!!!

Today i have a slight different post for you than the previous times.

Recently i bought myself a new notebook as i cannot live without one and the last one i owned, did its time. But i noticed that it lacked a notebook marker and if only it had one i would make its use easier. So i decided to make one myself :D

Here are the siiiiiiiiiiiiimple steps :

1. Take some ribbons

I keep this plastic container so as to store in it small ribbons and spare buttons. But not any random ribbons or buttons. The ribbons are from new bought blouses, you know those little strings of fabric that they use in order to keep the clothes on their hangers, and the buttons are those that some times come with the clothes in little plastic cases or stitched on them, in order to use then as a replacement if you loose the button of the garment.
I never had the heart to throw away those ribbons, i also thought that they may come of use and now was that time!

Also the plastic jar is from a body butter from Body Shop in the scent Moroccan Rose. I am pretty sure they have discontinued it but still have out a different scent based on roses.
The packaging was just too cute to throw away, so i kept it.

2. Choose your favorite

Here you can see my notebook and the ribbons i firstly sorted out, and my last two finalists. Woo hoo!!!!

3. Glue it on!

You can use a mini super glue or the regular ''UHU''

4. Cut off any excess ribbon

5. And here you have it! The finished product!

Hehe, i hoped you liked the debut of my hand :P

That was all loved ones, hope you enjoyed. I'll talk to you soon.

Kisses!!!
